Primary Accused: Damini (Victim’s wife) and Tushar (School bus driver/lover).
Motive: An extramarital affair and a ₹20 lakh insurance claim.
Modus Operandi: Sedating the victim with sleeping pills and releasing a highly venomous snake (Krait) onto his bed.
How the Crime Was Planned and Executed
The Conspiracy: Damini and her husband, Atul, operated a school in Meerut. Over time, Damini developed an extramarital relationship with Tushar, a driver employed at the same school. Desiring to eliminate Atul and claim his ₹20 lakh insurance policy, the duo devised a plot disguised as an accidental snakebite.
Procuring the Snake: Damini and Tushar reportedly paid ₹5 lakh to snake charmers to secure a highly lethal venomous snake (a Krait).
The Night of the Incident: On the night of the crime, Damini laced her husband's milk with sleeping pills. Once Atul fell completely unconscious, Tushar and an accomplice released the venomous snake onto the bed. The snake bit Atul multiple times, leading to his death.
