Banswara Launches 'Setu Referral Information' QR Code System for Real-Time Patient Monitoring

Banswara, Rajasthan : In a major step toward making healthcare services more robust, transparent, and technology-driven, Banswara district has introduced the 'Setu Referral Information' system. District Collector Dr. Inderjeet Singh Yadav inaugurated the digital portal at the District Hospital on Monday by scanning the QR code himself.

Scanning the code opens a dedicated portal where filling out the required details immediately logs a patient's transfer online. Prior to the launch, a training session was conducted for doctors and healthcare workers at the Collectorate Auditorium to familiarize them with the operation of this new digital framework.

During the meeting, the District Collector emphasized that an efficient referral system is crucial for ensuring rapid and proper treatment for critical patients. This system will allow real-time tracking and direct monitoring of every patient transfer.

How the Digital Portal Works

Expert Dr. Mahendra Singh Rathore, who arrived from Udaipur for the training, explained that all key information regarding a patient's referral will be digitized on the portal:

  • Reason for Referral: Why the patient is being transferred.

  • Destination Hospital: Where the patient has been referred.

  • Status Tracking: Whether the patient has safely arrived at the facility.

  • Current Health Condition: Real-time updates on the patient's state.

According to medical experts, this digital bridge will establish better coordination between sending and receiving hospitals, facilitate timely care for critical patients, prevent unnecessary transfers, reduce waiting times, and enhance overall patient care. Furthermore, data collected at the district and state levels will help continuously review and refine healthcare services.

Prompt Execution of Health Minister's Directives

Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Khushpal Singh Rathore stated that the system fulfills the directives given by the Honorable Health Minister during his visit to Banswara to integrate technology into the referral process. Banswara District Hospital took the lead in executing this initiative.

Developed by RNT Medical College, Udaipur, the digital portal aims to connect major hospitals across the entire division. Dr. Rahul Jain, Principal of RNT Medical College, expressed his delight at Banswara's initiative, stating that it creates a strong digital bridge (Setu) between Banswara District Hospital and MB Hospital in Udaipur.
