Central Bank Issues Auction Notice at Rajpal Yadav’s Ancestral Home Over ₹16.61 Crore Loan Default
Shahjahanpur: Bank officials have posted an auction notice at the ancestral residence of Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, following his failure to repay an outstanding loan amounting to ₹16.61 crore.
Key Details of the Case:
The Loan Default: The loan was originally borrowed to fund Yadav’s 2012 directorial debut film, Ata Pata Laapata. Due to non-payment over the years, the total accumulated dues—including interest—have scaled to ₹16,61,64,638.
Co-Borrowers: The bank notice names Rajpal Yadav, his wife Radha Yadav, and his mother Godavari Devi as co-borrowers and guarantors in the account.
Shahjahanpur Property Auction: Properties located at Gata numbers 1410, 1411, 1412, and 1413 in Banda (Puwayan tehsil) and his ancestral home in Kundra village have been attached. The reserve price for the Shahjahanpur land and building has been set at ₹3.10 crore, with an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) requirement of ₹31 lakh for potential bidders.
Mumbai Properties Attached: In addition to his properties in Uttar Pradesh, the DRT has also ordered the attachment and auction of his residential flats located in Mumbai's Juhu, Malad, and Goregaon areas to recover the total dues.
According to Anuj Verma, Manager of the Central Bank of India's Shahjahanpur branch, the auction notice was officially affixed to the actor's residence after repeated failure to settle the outstanding debt.
