Job Fair Nightmare: Patna Youth Alleges Hostage Trap and Exploitation Under Guise of Delhi ICU Nursing Job
Patna / New Delhi: What began as a promise of employment at a high-profile government-backed event has turned into a harrowing tale of alleged human trafficking, illegal confinement, and harassment.
Pooja Kumari, a resident of Patna, has leveled grave allegations of fraud and exploitation against a network operating out of the national capital. According to Pooja, she was selected for an ICU nursing job paying around ₹48,000 per month during the mega employment drive held at Gyan Bhawan in Patna between August 19 and 23. She reportedly received her official appointment letter directly from Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on August 23.
However, her excitement quickly turned into a struggle for survival upon arriving in Delhi.
Trapped in a Delhi Hostel
Instead of being assigned to a healthcare facility, Pooja alleges she was taken to a local hostel where she was detained against her will alongside several other young men and women.
According to her statement, the facility operated a disturbing screening ring:
Video Call Screenings: Female candidates were allegedly shown to external men via video calls. Those selected were sent away for 24-hour periods.
Coercion & Punishment: Pooja claims that when she refused to cooperate, she was subjected to extreme mental and physical abuse, forced to clean toilets, and denied basic food.
Foreign Trafficking Threat: She further alleged that preparations were underway to traffic her abroad before she managed to break free and escape back to Patna.
Demands for Action
Having survived the ordeal, Pooja is now seeking an audience with state authorities and the Chief Minister's office to present her story, demand an immediate investigation, and ensure action against those responsible.
Given that the appointment letter was distributed at an official public event, the allegations raise urgent questions regarding the verification processes of private recruiters participating in major job fairs. Authorities are expected to look into the matter to trace the organization involved in Delhi and verify the claims.
