Mumbai : Known for her bold, unconventional choices and powerhouse performances, actress Radhika Apte has once again spoken candidly about the harsh realities and misconceptions of the film industry. Looking back at the early phase of her career, Apte addressed how performing intense or bold scenes in films led to unfair assumptions regarding her professional boundaries.
Reflecting on her journey, the actress revealed that having appeared fully nude in around four to five films earlier in her career caused industry insiders and audiences to misjudge her. She shared that people automatically started assuming, "She’ll do it" for any future intimate sequence offered to her.
However, Radhika firmly set the record straight, emphasizing that past artistic choices do not equate to a blanket consent for future projects. She recalled situations where she explicitly had to put her foot down and tell creators, "Listen, I actually won’t do it."
Apte noted that navigating those early roles gave her deep clarity on the filmmaking process and helped her recognize the critical importance of drawing and communicating personal boundaries.
